Karen
Puchalsky, President of Innovate E-Commerce Inc., Named One of Pennsylvania's
"Best 50 Women in Business" for 2002
PITTSBURGH,
PA
Karen Puchalsky, president
of local e-commerce consulting firm Innovate E-Commerce Inc. was recently
named one of “Pennsylvania’s Best 50 Women in Business” in 2002. The
award competition was commissioned by Governor Mark Schweiker and the
Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development.
Puchalsky and fellow recipients were recognized by state representatives
and other sponsors of the award at a reception on May 20 at the Hershey
Lodge and Convention Center in Hershey. Governor Schweiker was on hand
to congratulate the award winners.
According to Schweiker, “The Best 50 Women in Business program, now
in its seventh year, honors Pennsylvania women for their many professional
and personal contributions, and provides the recognition they so richly
deserve. It is through their extraordinary efforts, and those of past
award winners, that Pennsylvania is a competitive force in today’s economy.”
Puchalsky was chosen one of the 50 best women based upon her “outstanding
professional and personal accomplishments” and her “advocacy in the
business community, particularly on behalf of women,” according to Samuel
A. McCullough, secretary of the Commonwealth’s Department of Community
and Economic Development, based in Harrisburg.
Karen Puchalsky is president and co-founder of the high-technology company
Innovate E-Commerce Inc.-- a business-to-business e-commerce consulting
firm headquartered in Oakland whose focus is moving, sharing, tracking
and securing critical structured business information, in an electronic
format, between its clients and the members of their extended value
chain.
Over the past two years, the company has been recognized by the Pittsburgh
Technology Council as a “Tech 50” award winner; by the Pittsburgh Business
Times as a “Pittsburgh 100” company; and by Ernst & Young, as finalists
in the “Entrepreneur of the Year” competition.
Innovate was also recently informed that for the second year, it is
in the running for the Ernst & Young award, to be announced June 28.
