Devoted to E-Commerce: I
have been working on E-Commerce systems for nearly 20 years. I have
experience in day-to-day operations as an EDI coordinator and in EC
systems product management, development, training, public speaking,
consulting and systems operations. In addition, I am fluent in E-Commerce
infrastructure technology, security and business continuity planning. E-Technology That Amazes Me the Most: I am amazed at how many organizations quickly adopt new E-Commerce technologies without fully understanding how to integrate the new tools into their existing processes. When organizations rush to implement new E-commerce technologies, there is little attention paid to the supporting audit and control systems necessary to ensure end-to-end data tracking and monitoring for process failures. Innovate: Greatest E-Commerce Challenge to Date: My greatest e-commerce challenge to date has been managing the Innovate EDI Managed Services operations. While processing millions of business-critical documents on a 24/7 basis, we continuously look for new and better technology to support our clients. Some of the improvements that have been implemented include an all-new communication T1 backbone with auto-failover redundancies; continuously upgrading to new and more powerful servers providing additional fault tolerance, capacity and server redundancy; implementing all-new email, VPN and RAS systems; and an expansion of the audit and control data tracking and business rule capabilities within the operations. As technologies continue to race ahead at ever increasing speeds, the biggest challenge that I see in the future is to continue keeping the infrastructure of the operation at the leading edge of technology, thereby allowing our clients to be able to utilize the best and latest technological E-Commerce solutions that are available world-wide. Our mission is to continue to provide systems and processes that are secure, fault tolerant and able to meet our clients mission critical business requirements in a timely manner. I have worked my way up through the Innovate E-Commerce organization by being hands on, honest and focused on the details necessary to manage an operation that processes billions of dollars of purchase orders, payroll transactions and other critical business documents.
